Fang extended the sensor. I held the safety line and watched the rusted pipe. The rhythm was biological; the danger came from what its resonance could loosen.

Field Observation

We moved inward from the outer shallows toward the old tide station. Each stage was reachable on foot or by a short wetland-boat crossing.

Morning · Sunken Transit Tube

Fang extended a sensor to read the rhythm. I held the safety line and warned her about the rusted pipe's resonance.

Noon · Pipeline Echo Shaft

We stood back to back and compared the water's ripples with the pipe-wall frequency. Tadpoles glowed inside the pipe.

Evening · Half-Flooded Platform

The colony's chorus marked the rising tide. We sat above the waterline and waited for the water to recede.

Habitat Causality

Warm, humid dome exhaust, seawater intrusion, pressure release from old tide gates, and submerged metal structures form a low-frequency resonant wetland. The colony's synchronized throat sacs signal water pressure, and that resonance can loosen corroded metal.

Species Behavior

Sunken-Bell Frogs cling to submerged structures. At high tide, thousands inflate their bell-shaped throat sacs in synchrony to signal water pressure. Their tadpoles glow faintly inside flooded pipes.
