In Year 5488, the inland world has long gone silent. The places humans can relight are the edges: coasts, seawalls, floating cities, domes, and island chains.

The Fourteen Domains are not borders. They are direction marks set by survivors for storms, salt fog, magnetic weather, crystallized forests, and mutant ecology.
