Electro-moss slopes, fungal-ring shoots, shallow cooling channels, and retired heat-dissipation orchards inside Diffraction Mycelium Reserve。Dome condensation, low-grade waste heat, electro-moss, and fungal rings form a cool passage through the retired photonic test zone. Cyan and magenta veins inside the hares' translucent ears release excess heat into the condensation mist. As the animals cross the cooling channels, spores and seeds caught in their belly fur reach new patches of forest floor.

Behavior and Ecological Role

The hares graze on electro-moss and tender fungal-ring shoots. Twelve seconds before each false exposure pulse, the whole group lowers its long ears and withdraws toward the cooling channel. They avoid the overheated light band rather than charging observers, and they pass quietly through any open route left by Fang and K.

The herd renews the understory by carrying spores and seeds across the cooling channels. Its synchronized ear-lowering response also provides a repeatable early warning that links the false light cycle to a low-grade waste-heat pulse, proving the animals are residents responding to the disturbance rather than intruders.

  • Soft pearl-gray fur, dark paws, and warm amber eyes

  • Elegant cyan and magenta photonic veins visible inside each ear

FIELD ETHICS

Observation Rule

Fang and K do not chase, corner, tag, or drive the herd. They follow signs from at least one herd's length away, read the animals' heat response without contact, and disable the sensor gate that wrongly classifies luminous ears as a threat.

At Waste-Heat Orchard, the flash had not yet appeared when every hare flattened its ears. Fang signaled K not to pursue them. K recorded their withdrawal toward the cooling channel. The luminous veins reacted twelve seconds before the city alarm, enough to show that the herd was sensing the error rather than causing it.
