We moved inward from the outer shallows toward the old tide station. Each stage was reachable on foot or by a short wetland-boat crossing.

A Saltvein Antler Deer brought its crystal antlers into resonance with the old pump. Fang and I measured from opposite sides of the channel and compared the readings.
Evening · Mineral-Grass Rise
The herd guided its fawns away from the flooded ground. We stepped aside and left the passage open.
Habitat Causality
Warm, humid dome exhaust, seawater intrusion, pressure release from old tide gates, and submerged metal structures form a low-frequency resonant wetland. The hollow antlers sense vibrations in underground pipes, and their resonance revealed the tide pump that was still running.
Species Behavior
Saltvein Antler Deer lick minerals from old concrete and cables, depositing excess salt along their backs. Their hollow antlers sense vibrations in buried pipes. Adults guard the herd and guide fawns away from flooded ground.
